LED Grow Lights

LED grow lights are relatively new to the horticultural lighting industry but are growing in popularity. They emit a full light spectrum that is ideal for plant growth and generate little heat, meaning they can be placed closer to plants without causing damage.  Less heat also means less cooling and ventilation is required to maintain operating temperature and plants will not require as much water to stay healthy.  Another benefit is that they use significantly less electricity have a long operating life of over 50,000 hours.

With all the benefits LED horticulture grow lights provide, there are a few important factors to consider. The first is that LED grow lights cost more than other horticultural lighting, though that is slowly changing as they become more mainstream. They also produce more directional light, resulting in a smaller area of coverage. You will need to keep this in mind when determining how many fixtures you need.

Overall, LED commercial greenhouse lighting is an excellent alternative to other options. They are highly effective and over time, the energy savings and less frequent bulb changes offset the higher initial purchasing cost.

Our line of horticultural LED lighting includes fixtures and individual lights that use solid state volumetric lighting that gives plants the light spectrum and uniform coverage they need for optimal growth. This helps growers produce higher yields while benefitting from up to 70% energy savings compared to HPS lights and a long service life. These LED horticultural grow lights generate little heat and are available in options for greenhouses and low/no sunlight growing operations.
